Stop The World – UK’s first Maternal Mental Health Awareness Week

This week it’s the UK’s first Maternal Mental Health Awareness Week, coinciding with International Maternal Mental Health Day today, May 3rd. For me, having a baby and becoming a mother has been the wildest and most amazing ride emotionally. At times it’s taken me to places I have never been before, and I’ll be the first to admit some of them have been scary, worrying, soul searching and terrifying. I found myself riding the rollercoaster again recently when I stopped breastfeeding Arthur at 20 months. It was hugely emotional and I found myself experiencing a wide range of feelings, some pretty wild. Motherhood has taught me, and is still teaching me, to try to be kind to myself and to try not to be all things to all people. I want to be a lioness and I want to powerfully and positively raise my lioncub. And to do this I need to look after myself. Love to you all today and always! ✊️✌️🤜🤛💜 #maternalMHmatters #maternalmhweek
